My exploration of the 2015 NFL rookie draft class with my dynasty fantasy eyes continues with my top nine receivers.  A second article featuring my next nine wide outs will be out in the next couple DGBof days.  These rankings show my thoughts of their first two to four years in the league:

1)            Amari Cooper, Oakland

This wide out runs the smoothest routes and should get the most targets over the next few seasons over any other receiver in his draft class.  The Oakland defense is improving, but the Raiders will be in their share of shootouts.

2)            Breshad Perriman, Baltimore

He steps into the Torrey Smith role from day one. His quarterback, Joe Flacco, throws the best deep ball in the league, Perriman’s specialty.  Steve Smith is not the same player he was and the Ravens did not make huge improvements in the run game, so there should be plenty of touches available.

3)            Nelson Agholor, Philadelphia

In Chip Kelly’s offense, all you need is quicks and attitude.  Agholor has that and more.  Of course former USC receivers have not fared well in the NFL for the last decade or so, but I believe that this talented receiver will buck that trend.

4)            Kevin White, Chicago

Of all the receivers, he might be the most talented but he is in a crazy situation.  White came on strong last season without standing out in earlier years.  The bipolar Jay Cutler has a new head coach that seems to prefer to run the ball.  His teammate, Alshon Jeffery, already has the chemistry with Cutler and skill set to be the WR1, does White?

5)            DeVante Parker, Miami

This talented receiver went from a target rich environment in Louisville to fighting for the pigskin versus Landry, Stills, Jennings, and TE Jordan Cameron.  He is more explosive than the others, but might need a year of seasoning to break out.

6)            Jaelen Strong, Houston

The big bodied wide out does a great job shielding defenders from the ball, but will suffer from catching passes from Ryan Mallet or former Brown Brian Hoyer.  Their offense still goes thru Arian Foster, so the targets might be hard to find in the beginning.

7)            Dorial Green-Beckham, Tennessee

This troubled, ultra-talented receiver could become a number one threat for the Titans.  His transition, after a year of not playing, might be difficult or could have matured him.  Huge upside and huge downside, if you are a risk taker, grab him earlier than that.

8)            Devin Funchess, Carolina

I realize that most of the fantasy community won’t be with me on this ranking.  Funchess is the kind of receiver you throw the ball up and let him get it.  He might be a better move tight end than receiver, but unlike his college career the offensive weapon gets an athletic quarterback with a strong arm on his team.  I am willing to take that chance here.

9)            Tyler Lockett, Seattle

After getting impressed with his quickness and route running in Mobile, I watched all the tape I could.  Lockett, if he can get off the line of scrimmage, can be a dangerous offensive weapon in Seattle.  Marshawn Lynch only has one or two years left and the Seahawks offense will change.  By trading up in the NFL Draft to select Lockett, he is a major piece of the new look offense.  Chances are Lockett will be available later than you think in rookie drafts.
