Airial ArianEvery week during the season, I will throw out some quick observations of the previous NFL week. With the invention of the DVR and Directv’s ”Quick Bits”, I am able to watch almost every snap of every game and give you a lightning “blitz” war “krieg” to bring to your fantasy league for domination. Bring on the games!

The Falcons game against the Colts was hardly a game.  Atlanta jumped to a 14-0 advantage early on and never looked back.  The Colts only score was a short interception return by CB Jerraud PowersDelone Carter had the first 2 carries of the game, the second which he fumbled and then he didn’t come back until the 4th quarter.  Donald Brown took advantage of the rookie as he had 16 carries for 70 yards of which most were on draws and designed to get the ball carrier in space.  Austin Collie had a team high 4 catches for 32 yards which isn’t saying much.   Curtis Painter had a miserable day with just under a 50% completion rate, 98 yards, and 1 pick.  The Falcons established the run game early with Michael Turner running for 71 yards and a short TD.  Rookie Jaquizz Rodgers also added 60 yards on 11 touches.  Fellow rookie Julio Jones had his best game as a pro finishing with 3 receptions for 131 yards on 4 targets.  The first catch was a contested 50 yard TD catch that was originally ruled a trap and Jones hauled in another 80 yard TD (this one he took a short pass and ran away from everyone).  Jones was solid in the reverse game as well with 2 carries for 33 yards.  Matt Ryan threw for a 58% completion rate with 275 yards and 3 TDs and the interception previously mentioned.  This was the first game that the Falcons offense could do whatever they wished and made the Colts problems extremely clear.
