Every week I will take a look at the rookie play to gage how some of the rookies were used.  I will then try to decide if you should pick these rookies up from your waiver wire or attempt to secure them in a trade.

Blaine Gabbert is not a good #2 QB now and has very little help other than MJD. I realize he has found Jason Hill for touchdowns in back to back
weeks. Gabbert has issues reading pressure as he is always feeling it regardless of situation.  Marcedes Lewis needs to step up to his 2010 form as Gabbert needs another reliable receiver. I haven’t given up hope, but the hope is not for 2011.

Christian Ponder finished the night for the Vikings with 9-17 attempts for 99 yards all in the 4th quarter.  He was very mobile and at least 3 of those attempts were drops by the Vikings receivers.  Ponder seemed to bond with Percy Harvin especially.  I really liked his mobility and he was willing to throw the ball down the field.  I’m excited about Ponder in the second half of the season.
